Turn headwinds into tailwinds

The headwinds seem to be gaining force - increasing levels of economic uncertainty, global instability, cost of living pressures, the list goes on.

Much of the force behind the headwinds is out of our control but of concern. These times call on us as leaders to turn the headwinds into tailwinds and bring about new possibilities.

Here are 3 ways to generate tailwinds:

  1. Focus less on success and more on progress – focusing on the end goal can blind us to the progress others are making to get there. Celebrating progress creates tailwinds.

  2. Connection counts more than content – focus less on what you believe is important to be said and more on what others have to say. Leaving others feeling heard and understood creates tailwinds.

  3. Appreciation matters more than recognition – recognising other’s results doesn’t mean they feel appreciated by you. Recognising other’s results matters. Appreciating other’s effort and commitment matters more. Appreciation creates tailwinds.

 COMMITMENT

Commit to creating more tailwinds – focus on progress, connection, and appreciation. Then see what difference you make.
