How you can flourish

I love the word flourish; it is energy, joy, fulfilment, and flow.

Think of a time you flourished. Observe how it flowed from you and not something that came to you.

When we flourish, we open ourselves to new possibilities and a depth of resourcefulness to navigate life’s unexpected interruptions and interferences.

To flourish takes practice. Here three practices to help you shift your way of being to flourish:

  1. Be present
Our breath is our best friend to help quieten and calm our minds. Many years ago, I learnt the 4 box-breathing technique. Simply breathe in through your nose to the count of four, hold your breath at the top to the count of four, breathe out though your mouth to the count of four and hold your breath at the bottom to the count of four. Repeat this 4-6 times. We flourish in the present moment.

  2. Be connected
Bring your attention and appreciation to all the people in your life you love, care about, and matter to you. We all live and work in an interconnected world – we flourish together.

  3. Hold your dignity
Hold your worth with dignity. This is not to mean believe you are better than or more worthy. Believe you matter. Hold your gifts in all of whom and what you are, with dignity.

The world needs you and is calling on you to flourish in service of others.

May you flourish.
