To know is to not know

In dealing with the normality of uncertainty, to rely on what you know may not be enough for your team to navigate through the disruption and deal with the challenges.

High performing, collaborative teams distinguish themselves in how they deal with complex and disruptive challenges by:

  1. Letting go
They accept the limitations of their knowing. They hold what they know lightly so they open themselves to what they don’t. Only by letting go of what we know, do we open ourselves to learn and expand our knowing.

  1. Facing their fears
They release the grip of their fears by turning towards their fears. They look to what their fears may teach them. By speaking and attending to their fears, they create the conditions for new possibilities to arise.

  1. Trusting the collective wisdom
They lean into and harness the diversity of perspectives and resourcefulness. By trusting the collective wisdom, they discover unexpected gateways to new possibilities.

Only by accepting the limitations of our knowing are we able to access infinite new knowing.
