What 2022 taught me

Do you also feel time passes by faster with each year and 2022 was no exception? As the year draws to a close, let’s gift ourselves the opportunity and reflect on the lessons learnt and how these may serve us moving into 2023.

Here’s what 2022 has taught me:

  1. OPTIMISM
The power of belief: often during the year, I hoped things would work out and some did. I came to see that to live in hope denied me access to what I could control and influence. Shifting from hope to belief, opened me to a world of possibilities. As I move into 2023, I will hold optimism as my source of energy and believe in what’s possible.

  2. APPRECIATION
Appreciate the progress rather than recognise the accomplishment: being a goal orientated person can be a mixed blessing – I’m always focused on achieving the end result and rarely stop to appreciate the progress. Celebrating the small steps of progress helped me maintain my momentum towards accomplishing my goals. In 2023, appreciation will be the pathway to progress.

  3. TEAMING
Running my own practice can feel like it’s all on my shoulders to think, sell and deliver. And whilst it is, I’m never alone. Success is a team sport and thank you Sheila Westhuizen, my Practice Manager, for your unfailing support and guidance. To the greatest team ever, thank you Kim, Lee, and Guy, for your endless love and understanding. I am who I am, thanks to you.

As 2022 draws to a close, my deepest appreciation and gratitude goes to all the leaders and leadership teams, I’ve had the privilege to work with and learn from you. May you have a safe and fun filled break and my hope is 2023 brings you good health, happiness, and success.

I look forward to flourishing together in 2023 and beyond.

Until then, take care
Bernard
