Trapped in victimhood
On my morning run, I overheard a person venting about her working arrangements and how unfair and unjust she felt her situation was compared to her colleague.
I could sense the weight of her resentment. In that moment, she wasn’t just upset with her colleague—she was stuck in a state of self-pity, powerless to change her own situation.
It occurred to me, rather than resent her colleague, she had the choice to accept her colleague had secured a desired working arrangement. Coming from a mood of acceptance, she would have seen greater possibility for herself, to do likewise.
CHALLENGE
The next time you feel trapped in victimhood, stop. Then, see and accept what you have choice and control over. Then, take action.
May you flourish.
